Frequently asked questions

What makes Dabri tea different from regular tea brands?

We pride ourselves in being end to value chain owners of our product. We grow, process, blend, package everything within our premises. This not only ensures faster turnaround but also keeps the tea fresh when packed and reduces chances of contamination.

As for us, our difference is in the intent behind our products and services. Every Dabri blend is thoughtfully crafted—from sourcing to final cup—so what you experience isn’t just flavour, but balance, clarity, and depth. It’s tea designed to be savoured, not rushed.

Do you use whole leaves or tea dust?

Only whole leaves or carefully cut leaves are used, depending on the blend. This allows the tea to open up fully while brewing, giving you a richer aroma and a more layered taste compared to standard dust-based teas.

Are the teas natural? Do they contain artificial flavours?

At Dabri, we strictly are against any artificial or synthetic flavoring or tinkering with the original product. We have a legacy to take care of and risking that for a few bucks is not part of our ethos. All blends are made using natural ingredients—tea leaves, herbs, flowers, fruits, and spices. There’s a conscious choice to stay away from artificial flavouring, allowing the ingredients to speak for themselves.

How should I brew the tea for the best taste?

There’s no rigid rule—just a few gentle guidelines:

  • Use fresh water
  • Instead of reaching for that strong cup of tea or coffee first thing in the morning, keep a small snack and try that with a warm cup of Dabri Darjeeling First Flush/Orthodox, Dabri Silver Needle, or Earl Grey instead. This will slowly ease you into your mornings without ruffling your mind. Instead of reaching for that strong cup of tea as soon as you wake up, try taking a nice cup of tea after your breakfast. After a full meal, black tea is soothing, promotes digestion, and won’t irritate your stomach. Also, brewing at the right temperature matters a lot.

For example
- White, Green tea, and whole leaf teas: 160-180°F (avoid boiling water)

- Black tea(CTC): 200-212°F (near or at boiling)

  • Steeping time: 3-5 minutes.
  • After that, let your tea cool for 1-2 minutes after brewing before drinking.

From there, adjust to your preference. The perfect cup is always personal.

Can all teas be enjoyed cold or as iced tea?

Yes, many Dabri blends work beautifully as cold brews or iced teas. In fact, some reveal entirely new flavour notes when chilled—making them perfect for warmer days or lighter moments.

Is tea suitable for daily consumption?

Most blends are designed to be part of an everyday ritual—whether it’s a mindful start to the morning or a calming pause in the evening. The idea is to fit seamlessly into your lifestyle. 3-5 cups a day is considered absolutely normal by most health experts. Both the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) define a safe caffeine intake as up to 400 mg per day, 200 mg per single dose, or 1.4 mg per pound (3 mg per kg) of body weight. An average cup (220 ml) of black tea packs 50 mg of caffeine but can contain more. For comparison, green teas contain up to 45 mg, while white teas deliver an average of 16.79 mg per gram (mg/g).  Matcha green tea is another high-caffeine tea. It usually comes in powdered form and packs 18.9 to 44.4 mg of caffeine per half-teaspoon (1-gram) serving.  On the other hand, An average 8-ounce (237-ml) cup of coffee contains 90 to 200 mg of caffeine

Do green teas help with weight loss or detox?

Tea can support a healthy lifestyle, especially when it’s rich in natural antioxidants. But it’s not a shortcut or a quick fix. The real value lies in making it part of a consistent, balanced routine rather than expecting dramatic results overnight.

While certain blends are rich in antioxidants and can support a balanced lifestyle, tea works best as part of a larger routine. It’s less about quick fixes and more about consistent, mindful habits.
